Other sites and memorials visited during the day

After Mansel copse we visited the Welsh memorial at Mametz Wood, which had been the scene of fierce fighting involving troops of the of the 38th (Welsh) Division who suffered 4000 casualties, and various cemeteries including those below.

We saw a number of vestigial zig-zagging trenches in the Newfoundland Memorial Park
